Source of revenue for North St. Lucie River Water Control District is a non-ad valorem tax assessed to landowners in the District. A uniform maintenance tax of $23.00 is levied upon each acre, or tract or parcel of less than one acre, of land within the primary boundaries of the District, with a minimum tax per parcel of $25.00. Statutory authority for the levy of the tax, fee assessment or charge is the Florida Legislature.
