District Information


The District meets on the last Thursday of the month at 9:00 am at the District office. The Annual Meeting is held on the first Friday in December at 10:00 am at the District office. Copies of the meeting minutes may be obtained by calling the District office at 772-461-5050 or emailing the office.

The Establishing Entity for North St. Lucie River Water Control District is the Florida Legislature. North St. Lucie River Water Control District was originally created in 1918 under the provisions of Chapter 298, Florida Statutes, commonly referred to as the General Drainage Law of Florida. The Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees, adopted by the Legislature as Part III of Chapter 112, Florida Statutes, contains standards of ethical conduct and disclosures applicable to public officers, employees, candidates, lobbyists, and others in State and local government, with the exception of judges.

The “Sunshine Amendment,” adopted by Florida voters through a constitutional initiative in 1976 as Article II, Section 8, Florida Constitution, contains standards of ethical conduct and disclosures applicable to public officers and employees; it also requires the Legislature to adopt the code of ethics described above.
